Ccara Llamas

Scotty has great conformation. He’s in the middle of his halter training as of Spring 2025. He leads and follows. Training is going nicely.

Tango has a very good top line that is nice and flat. He will definitely stand out in a crowd. Tango is very calm and leads very willingly. He has lots of energy.

As of Spring 2025, Chino is only a month old and already in halter training. He leads and follows.

Minks Sheri halters calmly, leads nicely on a lose line, loads smartly into trailers and can do many performance obstacles. She shows lots of aptitude in being a guard llama and is very bossy in the herd at a young age.

Nico's fundamentals are solid. He's easy to catch and halters calmly then leads fluidly to the hitching rail for saddling. He stands calmly on both sides accepting the saddle and panniers. Nico works best in the middle or end of the pack string and is a fantastic team player with zero llama drama. On the trail water crossings, bridges, deadfall off trail high grass and brush no problem. He's a proven & willing pack llama at only 3 years old. i

Canada’s Reserve (CR) is a proven pack llama with numerous overnight hard-working trips. He is 48" tall, big-boned and powerful, with well-developed musculature. He had two successful breedings in winter of 2023 with crias due in late 2023. Weanlings available end of 2024. CR has Ccara certified bloodlines from both sire & dam. He also has notable bloodlines with Sir Canad (ILR 211407) on the sire’s side and Summerdance (ILR 261625) on the dam’s side. CR received an Advanced Pack Llama certificate of completion from the Pack Llama Trail Association, Inc. on July 6, 2024.

D’Jango lives up to his namesake from the Quentin Tarantino film. He is one of the most reliable, athletic, powerful, talented, and intensely hard-working pack llamas we’ve ever encountered. He stands at 47-3/4” tall at the withers and has over 3,000 miles of commercial packing service in Idaho and Wyoming. His offspring are numerous and of very good conformation. They are extremely active, willing workers and in production as pack llamas in training. We are immensely fortunate to own this elite pack llama from Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas. They were willing to part with one of their top tier working commercial animals to enable us at Black Mountain Pack Llamas to have an outstanding proven Ccara pack llama to stand at stud. He comes from rare Canadian blood lines out of Monashee Bonanza that are proven pack llamas and outstanding in their body structure confirmation. His sire, Vali Shaman, is a certified Ccara & Elite Commercial Pack Llama. His dam, Sibyl Delight, is also a certified Ccara. D'Jango received an Advanced Pack Llama certificate of completion from the Pack Llama Trail Association, Inc. on July 6, 2024.

Sire: Bear Mountain Zorro ILR 257344 - a 49” powerful commercial pack llama from Potato Ranch Llama Packers. Dam: Redwood’s Wynonna Judd ILR 285973 - a proven pack llama with many family packing trips in the Sierra mountains. Johnny Cash is a 46" tall proven pack llama with 500 miles of pack llama load bearing service. He has excellent conformation with beautiful movement. He is 46” at the withers. He has notable bloodlines with Hi Trail Dargo’s son Jothee (ILR 268875) on the dam’s side and Jordans White Socks (ILR 247047) on the sire’s side. Lots of Ccara on both sides. Johnny Cash received an Advanced Pack Llama certificate of completion from the Pack Llama Trail Association, Inc. on July 6, 2024.

JW’s complete genetics outcross to all our females, providing genetic diversity and depth. His dam, Krisstina’s Glacier, is a proven packer and outstanding confirmation. There is a famous pic of JW’s sire, Oliver Twist, transporting a child during a backcountry winter hunt trip (see photos). Oliver is one of our favorite llamas because he’s extremely calm, massive, and works extra hard. It took Black Mountain Pack Llamas years to acquire one of Oliver’s offspring, so we are very excited about JW’s future of packing and offspring. JW also has notable bloodlines with Hannity & and Jordan’s White Socks on the sire's with Quartz on the Dam side. Ccara registered animals are plentiful on both sides. JW is 48" tall. He has plenty of moxy and is very hard-working. He’s also calm, kind, and playful to our younger llamas. JW has no breedings yet since he was recently acquired from Wilderness Ridge Tail Llamas (WRTL). JW received an Advanced Pack Llama certificate of completion from the Pack Llama Trail Association, Inc. on July 6, 2024.

Kodi is training to be a pack llama and will be a stud. He has completed his halter training and is in the middle of his performance and obstacle training. He packs in a string and works excellent in the middle or the back of a string. He’s got great genetics and has good conformation, but he is still only two years old.

Bodi is the best looking two-year old that Black Mountain Pack Llamas has. His conformation is outstanding and he has a striking top line. He works best in the lead position in a pack string and is progressing magnificently in his training. He is very enthusiastic and a very willing worker.

Sienna has excellent balance and proportion in her confirmation with a beautiful topline. Her movement is smooth and graceful. She’s completed halter training and well into performance obstacle and pack training. She's an Ideal female for breeding showing and packing. Sienna has lots of energy and has a solid go button!

Yuni may be the tallest llama BMPL has, but she is only two years old! Our goal is to bring height into our herd and we are big fans of Yuni's parents, WRTL Volcan and Phred Sco1, so with that intention, we acquired Yuni at an auction. She will be bred in Spring 2026. Yuni is a very calm and sweet halter trained animal.

Ccara Certified. 48” Tall. Breeder: Hi Trl. Maybelline is a proven dam with two offspring which are both proven working llamas and public relations animals. One is currently at Sugar Sweet Farm in Encinitas, CA where they do special events and llama therapy. The other offspring is outstanding in confirmation - a proven pack llama that won the 2019 ALSA Western States Regional competition in the Light Wool Classic Female Halter class. Maybelline’s sire is Commander Spock. He is a certified Ccara, a famous prolific stud, and a commercial pack llama. Cheyenne’s dam, B’Elanna, is also a certified Ccara.

Ccara Certified 45” Tall. Breeder: Redwood Llamas. Hillary shares our top spot for best performance show, while continuing to maintain top honors as one of the top three female pack llamas. She is intelligent, confident, and hard-working. She’s consistent in the performance show arena. She’s produced an outstanding offspring, BMPL Bernie, that is currently working a commercial pack llama.

Breeder: Black Mountain Pack Llamas. Mariah has outstanding conformation and show presence. She’s already achieved a Best in Show Award at age two. At two years of age, she’s already taller than her mom with jaw-dropping looks. Her movement has amazing conformation, and coupled with striking markings and energetic show presence, this animal is a rock star! She’s calm in the show ring and a hard worker on day pack trips, which is just the icing on the cake.

Emily is 47” tall & still growing. Breeder: Black Mountain Pack Llamas. Emily is virtually a copy of her mom in conformation, movement, and coloring - all white. We expect great things from Emily, as she’s much calmer and easier to work with than many llamas. Both her sire and dam come from long lines of legendary pack llamas. Her dam is a certified Ccara with Best in Show awards.

Minx is part of our breeding program. She's had two crias and is a proven mom. She takes great care of her babies. She is a very timid llama. She has very good conformation and would be in the halter class for show.
